Overview
ExecExam is an automated assessment tool for Python that runs executable examinations - real code, graded by real test suites via Pytest. It is part of the GatorEducator ecosystem and is currently used at Allegheny College to assist both students and educators.
My Contribution
I integrated LiteLLM into ExecExam so that when a student's code fails a test, they get context-aware AI feedback - tailored suggestions on why the failure happened and how to fix it, instead of a bare stack trace. I presented the work as a speed talk at the PyCon 2025 Education Summit.
In my fall 2024 software engineering class I also served as the class reviewer: I implemented the git flow the class worked in and reviewed my classmates' pull requests before they merged. Reviewing dozens of other people's branches is a crash course in reading code you did not write, and it is where I learned to love a small, well-described PR.
