Overview

Code with Chompers is a STEM education initiative focused on fostering early interest in computer science. Through workshops, events, and classroom activities, it exposes K-6 students to programming, robotics, and computational thinking - with plenty of Play-Doh involved.

My Role

I worked on Code with Chompers with Dr. Janyl Jumadinova. I did not build every lesson, but I helped teach the workshops, contributed activity materials, and worked to make the program's website codewithchompers.com more accessible. Teaching real kids with this material is also where a lot of my own lessons, like the Play-Doh circuits, come from.

Why It Matters

  • Building future skills: computational thinking helps kids in every subject.
  • Increasing diversity in tech: reaching students before stereotypes set in.
  • Encouraging innovation: kids learn that they can make technology, not just use it.
  • Bridging the digital divide: free programming for communities that need it.

Get Involved
